Only G-d Saves Israel
Israel leans on a splintered reed. History repeats itself. She has been and
still is depending on the U.S.A. for her military defense.
As in history when Israel depended on Egypt to defend her, Egypt was not
dependable. The U.S.A. is for the U.S.A. and no one else.
In times of trouble
America will submit to the oil rich nations, not to a bunch of Jews who say,
“We have nobody to rely on, only you America.
You are our savior, and
redeemer.”
The American government, Republican and Democrat, will not defend Israel when
the going gets tough, and tough it will be!
Americans will say, “We will pray for you, but you are on your
own.”
These comments I find interesting. Yes, they are right.
We will be on our own. I
wonder if they believe the writings of James the brother of Jesus.
Faith and Deeds
Jas 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without
deeds is dead.
Israel leans on a splintered reed
In ancient times the children of Israel were seeking gods other than
the one true G-d. After King David who ruled for many years, who truly loved
and understood the true meaning of “The Fear of the L-rd”,
the
faith of most Hebrews had deteriorated to worshiping images of rocks, and wood.
The people became weak militarily, and in many other ways. One of the most
powerful nations, militarily, at the time was Egypt. Israel made an alliance
with Egypt, and so they depended on the Egyptians as allies to help defend
them.
Only once did a righteous leader say no to asking Egypt for help.
King Hezekiah said no to surrender to Sennacherib King of Assyria,
even though
Israel was greatly out numbered by the Assyrian forces.
King Hezekiah tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went to the temple of
the L-rd, and prayed.
Hezekiah’s Prayer
Isa.37:14-20; 2Ki 19:14-19
| Isa 37:14 |
Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up
to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.
|
| Isa 37:15 |
And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD:
|
| Isa 37:16 |
“O LORD Almighty, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you
alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and
earth.
|
| Isa 37:17 |
Give ear, O LORD, and hear; open your eyes, O LORD, and see; listen to all the
words Sennacherib has sent to insult the living God.
|
| Isa 37:18 |
“It is true, O LORD, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste all these
peoples and their lands.
|
| Isa 37:19 |
They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not
gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.
|
| Isa 37:20 |
Now, O LORD our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all kingdoms on earth
may know that you alone, O LORD, are God.”

G-d Answers Hezekiah's Prayer
That night the angel of the L-rd came to the camp of the Assyrians, outside
Jerusalem. The angel of the L-rd G-d put to death a hundred and eighty five
thousand men in the Assyrian camp.
King Sennacherib fled to his capitol Nineveh, where his own sons cut him
down with the sword.
There are religious leaders in Israel and in the United States today who are now
suggesting that the Americans should vote for one of the men
who are seeking
the Presidential nomination, because they say Israel will have allies who will
always protect her.
These religious leaders are saying, “Who needs the G-d of Israel when you can have
the so-called great world power the United States of
America to protect you?”
I say that America is a splintered reed that will fall apart and pierce the
body of Israel and bring her to her knees. And she will fall to what seems
beyond recovery.
The 30th chapter of Jeremiah is a clear roadmap and a detailed explanation of
how things will transpire in days to come.
In other words, “the day of the L-rd”. It will be a ringside seat of
things that are about to transpire. Of course this is also laid out for us in
all the other writings of the prophets.
Israel keeps wanting to depend on some other country to defend her, and they are
purposely denying the glory and power of her one and only true savior, the G-d
of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the G-d of Israel.
Israel has only one so-called ally. Israel places all her hopes on this one
nation, the U.S.A., believing that she will defend her.
The allies of Israel will abandon her. America is a splintered reed that will
fall apart and pierce the body of Israel and bring her to her knees.
As Egypt went, so the same disaster will come upon the U.S.A.
| Eze 29:6 |
Then all who live in Egypt will know that I am the LORD.
“ ‘You have been a staff of reed for the house of Israel.
|
| Eze 29:7 |
When they grasped you with their hands, you splintered and you tore open their
shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and their backs were wrenched.
|
| Eze 29:8 |
“ ‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will bring a
sword against you and kill your men and their animals.
|
| Eze 29:9 |
Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
“ ‘Because you said, “The Nile is mine; I made it,”
|
| Eze 29:10 |
therefore I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land
of Egypt a ruin and a desolate waste from Migdol to Aswan, as far as the border
of Cush.
|
| Eze 29:11 |
No foot of man or animal will pass through it; no one will live there for forty
years.
|
| Eze 29:12 |
I will make the land of Egypt desolate among devastated lands, and her cities
will lie desolate forty years among ruined cities. And I will disperse the
Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.
|
| Eze 29:13 |
“ ‘Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says: At the end of forty
years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations where they were scattered.
|
| Eze 29:14 |
I will bring them back from captivity and return them to Upper Egypt, the land
of their ancestry. There they will be a lowly kingdom.
|
| Eze 29:15 |
It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the
other nations. I will make it so weak that it will never again rule over the
nations.
|
| Eze 29:16 |
Egypt will no longer be a source of confidence for the people of Israel but will
be a reminder of their sin in turning to her for help. Then they will know that
I am the Sovereign LORD.’ ”
|
In Jer 30: 12-14 we see all her allies will care nothing for her and forget her
when she needs them the most. America will abandon Israel!!
Jer. 30:12-14
| Jer 30:12 |
“This is what the LORD says:
“ ‘Your wound is incurable,
your injury beyond healing.
|
| Jer 30:13 |
There is no one to plead your cause,
no remedy for your sore,
no healing for you.
|
| Jer 30:14 |
All your allies have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you.
I have struck you as an enemy would
and punished you as would the cruel,
because your guilt is so great
and your sins so many.
|
In Jer. 30:11 we see what happens to her so-called allies, and also every other
nation where Hebrews were living (diaspora).
Though all these Gentile nations will be punished, crushed by the L-rd, this
does not mean Israel will be off the hook. She will be beat down and cleansed
by G-d of all her sinful ways, and then restored.
Jer. 30:11
| Jer 30:11 |
I am with you and will save you,’
declares the LORD.
‘Though I completely destroy all the nations
among which I scatter you,
I will not completely destroy you.
I will discipline you but only with justice;
I will not let you go entirely
unpunished.’
|
I guess my fellow Hebrews forgot their
own history. Every war Israel has ever won was a miracle
victory. Where did they put their brains?
Psalms 44
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil.
| Ps 44:1 |
We have heard with our ears, O God;
our fathers have told us
what you did in their days,
in days long ago.
|
| Ps 44:2 |
With your hand you drove out the nations
and planted our fathers;
you crushed the peoples
and made our fathers flourish.
|
| Ps 44:3 |
It was not by their sword that they won the land,
nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand, your arm,
and the light of your face, for you loved them.
|
| Ps 44:4 |
You are my King and my God,
who decrees victories for Jacob.
|
| Ps 44:5 |
Through you we push back our enemies;
through your name we trample our foes.
|
| Ps 44:6 |
I do not trust in my bow,
my sword does not bring me victory;
|
| Ps 44:7 |
but you give us victory over our enemies,
you put our adversaries to shame.
|
| Ps 44:8 |
In God we make our boast all day long,
and we will praise your name forever.

Psalm 124
A song of ascents. Of David.
| Ps 124:1 |
If the LORD had not been on our side—
let Israel say—
|
|
Ps 124:2 |
if the LORD had not been on our side
when men attacked us,
|
|
Ps 124:3 |
when their anger flared against us,
they would have swallowed us alive;
|
|
Ps 124:4 |
the flood would have engulfed us,
the torrent would have swept over us,
|
|
Ps 124:5 |
the raging waters
would have swept us away.
|
|
Ps 124:6 |
Praise be to the LORD,
who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
|
|
Ps 124:7 |
We have escaped like a bird
out of the fowler’s snare;
the snare has been broken,
and we have escaped.

Ps 124:8 |
Our help is in the name of the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

Only G-d saves Israel!
Israel will be brought down to her knees!
America will cease to exist as any kind of a great power!
