I Am a Jew and a ZionistWhere I'm From and Where I'm GoingMy wife Lee and I are "Jews and Zionists"; we are both citizens of the USA and Israel. However, we were never taught by our families that Israel is G-d's Holy Land. As young people, we never understood that G-d had a people, and are a part of that people by covenant. But as we got older, we realized what it meant to be a Jew. In time G-d changed us, we feel He put this love for Israel in our hearts. We feel now that if we don't speak up for what G-d has given us, we will be responsible for our family and others. All need to know this love G-d has for Israel. When we realized that as Jews and Zionists, it was a commandment in the Tannach (Bible), that we had an obligation, and that we should go home to Israel, (Aliah). We were obedient to that call and moved to northern Israel in 1985, and became citizens of Israel. We felt as citizens of this country, and to be truly a part of it, we needed to serve the country we loved so much. So we joined the home guard. We also served in "SAREL', a division of the I.D.F. (Israel defense forces) as volunteers (because of our age). However, due to problems our children and grandchildren had, we felt we needed to return to the U.S. to help them, and came back in 1987. But we still serve our Jewish roots (Israel) the best we can, by speaking and writing Biblical truths to our Christian and Jewish friends in America. I have spent 40 years studying the Bible and Middle Eastern history. My schooling was in many locations. They were in a Christian Bible college in Kansas, Hebrew School in Jerusalem, and I studied Holy Land geology, archeology, and history at the Institute of Holy Land Studies in Jerusalem. Also I took some short courses on Islam and another on Islamic Propaganda by professors from the University of Jerusalem. Shalom, Ariel | |
